Sweetgrass Readies for April 25 Golf Season Opener

Course Offers Spring Packages, New Conference Center

(Harris, Michigan) – Sweetgrass Golf Club (www.sweetgrassgolfclub.com) will welcome its first golfers of the season on April 25, as it prepares the course for the arrival of the LPGA Futures Tour this summer.

Early spring greens fees on the public championship course are $40 until May 31; play-and-stay packages start at $95 midweek, based on double occupancy. For the remainder of the season, greens fees will remain at $75, making it one of the most affordable rounds in the region.

“We’re encouraging golfers to play the course before the LPGA Futures Tour arrives in late June,” said Sweetgrass CEO Tom McChesney. “The nuances of the course make it a great challenge and a fun round from now through October.”

For those looking for longer stays and play on multiple courses, Sweetgrass will also offer its Perfect Foursome special again this year, which includes play at Sweetgrass and nearby Greywalls and Timberstone. Three-round, two-night packages start at $265, based on double occupancy, and include stays at the Island Resort Casino, with live entertainment, five restaurants and 24/7 gaming.

The package has been a very popular offering for traveling golfers. All three golf courses were named to Golfweek’s  Best Courses You Can Play listing, which named the Top 20 public golf courses in Michigan in early March.

Larger groups will also enjoy Sweetgrass’ new conference center and patio, which increases its function space to 17,400 square feet indoors, accommodating up to 800 people. The new construction makes it possible for golf buddy trips to have private dinners, pairing parties, or casual outdoor gatherings throughout the golf season.  The new conference center opens officially on May 1.
