Adam Scott and Luke Donald Win with New Titleist Prototype Golf Balls

Na Yeon Choi Trusts Titleist to Capture Season-Ending CME Titleholders on LPGA Tour

(Fairhaven, MA) – Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott became the first player to win playing a new Titleist Pro V1 prototype golf ball when he captured the Australian Masters on Sunday, while Luke Donald achieved the same feat on the same day with the new Titleist Pro V1x prototype golf ball at the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan.  When two of the world’s top players each have the confidence to put a new golf ball into play immediately, and ultimately win with it, their success further validates the superior performance and consistency of Titleist and the next generation Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

Scott and Donald led Titleist golf ball loyalists to a six-win week across the worldwide professional tours which also included victories on the LPGA, European, China and Latinoamerica Tours.  Titleist’s year-to-date golf ball victory count improves to 180, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 24.

ADAM SCOTT first put the new Titleist Pro V1 prototype golf ball into play three weeks ago at the HSBC Champions where he tied for 8th place.  He followed that performance with a T5 finish at the Barclays Singapore Open.  This week, Scott fired a final round 5-under par 67 en route to a 17-under 271 total and four-shot victory at the Australian Masters.  The native Queenslander and fan favorite added an exclamation point to his first win of the year and the 20th of his professional career with a birdie on the final hole.

In advance of the Australian Masters, Scott described his performance with the Pro V1 prototype:
"I put the new Pro V1 in play starting at HSBC and the Singapore Open.  I've found it a very easy fit into my game, I've been very happy with the results, and I've played well.  Certainly some of the new features of this new Pro V1 are very much what I like to see in my game.  It has a little different trajectory, the spin around the greens gives me the control that I want, and the feel is fantastic."
Scott on his first Australian Masters win:  "I've grown up watching the Masters since I was a kid, so this has been somewhat a long time coming.  I've had some close calls (he was beaten in playoffs in 2002 and 2003) about 10 years ago, so this is pretty sweet to be in the gold jacket and to hold this trophy which I've been admiring since I was just a kid."

What's in Adam Scott's Titleist Bag?:  New Pro V1 prototype golf ball, 910D3 driver (9.5), 910F fairway metal (15), prototype 712U utility iron (19), MB irons (3-9), Vokey Design SM4 pitching (48), sand (54) and lob (60) wedges, Scotty Cameron Kombi Long putter.

Scott, who is No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking, topped defending champion Ian Poulter (Pro V1x), who closed with an even par 72.  Titleist Brand Ambassador Gareth Paddison (Pro V1x, 913D3 driver, 913F fairway metal, CB irons, Vokey Design Wedges, Scotty Cameron putter) tied for third, another four shots back.  Adam Crawford (Pro V1x) closed with the best round of the day, a 7-under 65 to finish solo fifth, as Titleist golf ball loyalists occupied four of the top five positions and nine of the 12 who finished among the top 10 and ties at Kingston Heath.

Titleist was the most played golf ball with 87 players (73%) in the field of 120, nearly four times the nearest competitor with 22.

LUKE DONALD:  Playing the new Titleist Pro V1x prototype golf ball in competition for the first time, Donald captured the Dunlop Phoenix by five shots.  He becomes the first player to win with the new Pro V1x prototype on one of the worldwide professional tours.

Donald fired a final round 3-under par 68 en route to a 16-under 268 victory total.  He started the final round four clear of his nearest competitor and left them with little hope after he birdied the fourth, eagled the seventh and birdied the eighth. Donald was playing in the Japan Tour event for the first time since 2007.

The win was the third of the season for Donald, who also captured the Transitions Championship on the PGA TOUR in March and the BMW PGA Championship on the European Tour in May.  The victory also vaulted him to No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking, behind Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy.  The win marked Donald's 12th official career crown.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 34 players, and wedges with 62.

LPGA:  In a showdown of the last two U.S. Women’s Open champions, Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Na Yeon Choi captured the season-ending CME Group Titleholders, edging fellow Korean So Yeon Ryu (Pro V1) by two shots.  It was Choi's second title of the year and the seventh in her LPGA career.  Choi won the U.S. Women’s Open in July at Blackwolf Run.  Ryu won it in 2011.  Choi fired three consecutive rounds in the 60's before closing with a 2-under par 70 en route to a 14-under 274 victory total.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 49 players (67%) in the field of 73, more than eight times the nearest competitor with six.

EUROPEAN:  It was a Titleist Pro V1x 1-2 finish at the SA Open Championship where Henrik Stenson ended a five year wait for a European Tour title.  Stenson, who finished with a 17-under par victory total, topped a charging George Coetzee.  It was the eighth top ten finish of the season for Coetzee.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 110 players (71%), more than four times the nearest competitor with 23.

CHINA:  Seventeen-year-old Jeung Hun Wang of Korea captured the China PGA Champions Tour Chongqing event for his first career win on the China Tour.  Wang closed with two consecutive rounds of 5-under 67 to finish at 14-under with a four shot margin of victory.  Fellow Pro V1x loyalist Hao Yuan also fired a final round 5-under 67 to finish in a tie for third, six shots back.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 90 players (73%) in the field of 124, six times more than the nearest competitor with 15.  Eight of the 12 players who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

LATINO AMERICA:  Sebastian Vazquez carded a final round 71 to capture the inaugural Puerto Rico Classic in just his second professional start.  Vazquez finished at 14-under 274 - two strokes clear of Jorge Fernandez-Valdes and three ahead of Julio Zapata.  All three players relied upon the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball for their success.  Vazquez, a 22-year-old from Mexico City, was in the field at this inaugural PGA Tour Latinoamerica event just six weeks after finishing atop the World Amateur in Turkey.

Titleist was the most trusted golf ball with 107 players (84%) in the field of 128, nearly nine times the nearest competitor with 12.
