Scotch Hall Preserve Community Unveils Plans for New Marina

(MERRY HILL, NC) – The Scotch Hall Preserve community on the Albemarle Sound will soon be home to a new marina.

Construction of the first phase of the marina will begin this month, according to Jamie Williams, the community’s marketing director for the 900-acre private golf and waterfront resort community in northeastern North Carolina between the historic towns of Edenton and Windsor.

“Completion of the first phase is expected by early summer 2013, consisting of private boat slips, boat ramp and picnic area reserved for property owners and members of Scotch Hall Preserve”, Williams said.

Ultimately, plans call for up to 92 slips along with fuel docks. The marina is located near the mouth of Salmon Creek at the Albemarle Sound.

The marina is the latest addition to the collection of family amenities at Scotch Hall Preserve. The community already features an acclaimed Arnold Palmer Signature golf course, which Golf Digest magazine named one of the country’s Top 10 best new courses in 2009.

The announcement caps off a year of intense development activity at the community, with over $7 million in new investment, highlighted by the members-only Soundside Beach Club and Pavilion, featuring a soundfront resort pool and waterslide, bar &grill, changing rooms, fire pit, gazebo and children’s playground.

“Construction is nearing completion on five waterfront single-family cottage homes with two completed furnished models now open daily.  Also underway are two private residences on the Sound, with completion expected by early next year.” Williams added.

“The coming of the new marina will only strengthen the appeal of Scotch Hall Preserve to retirees and second home buyers,” Williams said. “We’ve seen especially strong interest in the Research Triangle region which has generated the largest response by far to our 2012 marketing campaign.”

Scotch Hall Preserve is owned by The Rial Corporation with the recognized firm of IMI managing the development, amenity operation and marketing and sales for the community.  Sales offices and a new soon to open Scotch Hall Discovery Studio are located in Lafayette Village off of Falls of Neuse Road near I-540 in North Raleigh.
