Manchester Country Club Selects New Executive Chef

Club’s New Culinary Leader Is Highly-Touted Professional With Nearly 25 Years of Experience

(Scottsdale, Az.) – Manchester Country Club, one of New England’s pre-eminent private clubs recently announced the hiring of a new Executive Chef.

With over 20 years of professional cooking, menu design and staff management experience at 5-Star and 4-Star restaurants along the eastern seaboard, Thomas Conboy joins the Bedford, New Hampshire-based Club. Prior to his appointment at Manchester CC, Conboy was a Culinary Consultant and Freelance Chef in Southeast Asia, most notably the countries of Vietnam and Cambodia. A two-year stint as Executive Chef at Bonnie Briar Country Club in Larchmont, New York preceded his consultancy, supervising a staff of 16 in overseeing kitchen, catering and banquet facility operations.

It is without question one of the finest Clubs in the northeast and I look forward to providing the members and their guests with a superb menu and an unmatched dining experience,” said Conboy, who was a featured guest on the Food Network’s, “Follow that Food” with Gordon Elliott in 2003.

Conboy also served as Executive Chef at Bocaire Country Club, Boca Raton, Florida; Sleepy Hollow Country Club, Long Island, New York; Glen Island Casino, New Rochelle, New York and the Radisson Plaza Hotel, Melville, New York. For a ten-year period from 1995 – 2005, Conboy was Executive Chef for the New York Stock Exchange Club in New York City, managing a staff of 65 and directing an annual food and beverage budget of $14 million. He coordinated 1,200 meals for daily floor service and 275 meals each day for the member’s dining room.

At the 1998 World’s Fair in Lisbon, Portugal, Conboy was selected as the Senior Executive Chef for the USA handling American cuisine for the annual Expo that was represented by well over 140 countries. His foray into the political arena drew praise as well, acting as Executive Chef for the wedding of New York Governor Mario Cuomo’s daughter in Albany, New York in 1993.

In 2013, Manchester Country Club completed an $8 million renovation project that included restoration and reorganization of MCC’s existing historic Clubhouse resulting in a spectacular New Hampshire venue for weddings and special events and a premier New England country club updated with new amenities. That same year, Golf Inc. Magazine nominated the Clubhouse at Manchester CC for its “Clubhouse of the Year” honor after its most recent renovation.
