Salish Cliffs Golf Club Moves Into Top 5 of GOLF Magazine’s ‘Best Courses’ Rankings

(SHELTON, Wash.) – Salish Cliffs Golf Club (www.salish-cliffs.com) – the critically acclaimed amenity course at Little Creek Casino Resort, located a short drive from Seattle and Olympia – moved up five spots on GOLF Magazine’s “Best Courses Near You” state rankings, landing at No. 4 on the biennial list.

Nearly 100 public-access courses in the state were eligible for the distinction, with only the top 15 appearing in the September print issue. Salish Cliffs, which opened in 2011, made the largest leap of any course reappearing on the 2014 list.

“We’re honored to be recognized as a top 5 course in the state in just our third full season of operation,” said Salish Cliffs Head Professional David Kass, PGA. “It’s a true testament to the quality of the course, the first-rate amenities at Little Creek Casino Resort and the dedication of the Squaxin Island Tribe.”

Owned and operated by the Squaxin Island Tribe, Salish Cliffs Golf Club has collected numerous accolades from national publications. Earlier this year, it was ranked No. 3 in Washington by Golfweek. It has also earned top-10 status on Golf Digest’s biennial “America’s Greatest Courses” by state list (2013) and Golfweek’s “Best Casino Courses” list.

The Gene Bates design is renowned for its exceptional conditioning and stunning views of the Kamilche Valley. Salish Cliffs is also the world’s first “Salmon Safe” certified golf course, part of an unwavering commitment by the Squaxin Island Tribe to leave the delicate surrounding environment as undisturbed as possible.

Little Creek Casino Resort offers the latest in electronic and table gaming with one of the largest and newest smoke-free casinos in the region. Other new amenities include Seven Inlets Spa, a full-service RV Park and the Skookum Spirit Cigar and Wine Lounge. The resort regularly attracts headline acts and entertainment at the Skookum Creek Event Center, including live professional boxing.
