Troon Selected to Manage Tennessee National Golf Club

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) – Troon, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage Tennessee National Golf Club, located in a private 1,450-acre community with more than three miles of water frontage in Loudon, Tennessee.

Set in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains near Knoxville, Tennessee National’s 18-hole, Greg Norman Signature Golf Course features 13 water features and numerous stacked sod bunkers, reminiscent of Scottish golf course architecture. With five holes that play along or toward the Tennessee River, the course layout is unique in the Southeast United States. Its generous landing areas and perfectly manicured fairways make it the ideal playing experience for all levels while challenging the most accomplished players.

“Tennessee National Golf Club is Troon’s first club in East Tennessee and an exciting addition to our portfolio,” said Jim McLaughlin, senior vice president, Troon Privé operations. “We are confident that by combining the club’s amenities with our expertise and management practices, we will contribute positively to the overall experience found at Tennessee National.”

“It is an outstanding facility on a spectacular piece of waterfront acreage with rolling hills, woods and open fields,” said Matt Hurley, vice president of operations, Troon. “We look forward to working with the property’s new owners and re-launching the club and development to the region.”

Residents of Tennessee National enjoy the combination of living in a gated and peaceful waterfront setting with a premier golf course as its centerpiece. Ownership of the Tennessee National development changed hands earlier this year and the new owners are moving to add to its amenities with a new wellness center, marina, and improved golf facilities.

“Troon’s joining the Tennessee National team on the golf side combined with the addition of the marina and a reinvigorated residential building program, will position Tennessee National as a premier golf and waterfront community,” said David Porter, one of the principals of the new ownership team.
