Capital Canyon Club in Prescott Names New General Manager

Seasoned Golf Management Professional to Lead Restored Private Country Club

(PRESCOTT, Ariz.) – With extensive renovations to the exclusive private country club fully underway, the Capital Canyon Club, formerly known as Hassayampa CC recently named Laura Scrivner as its new General Manager.

With the picturesque rolling terrain and tall Ponderosa pines of Prescott situated as its backdrop, the Capital Canyon Club, now under new ownership, is located just two miles from historic Courthouse Square in the downtown area and is scheduled to open later this month in the popular northern Arizona community. The Tom Weiskopf Signature Design golf course is also undergoing improvements to its layout and will be ready for play by the Fourth of July holiday.

Scrivner brings a wealth of experience to her new post. Prior to joining the Capital Canyon Club, Scrivner was General Manager for Troon Golf and the Carl M. Freeman Companies overseeing the Sports and Hospitality divisions for the Bayside Resort Golf Club on Fenwick Island in Delaware, Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club in Ocean View, Delaware and The Bay Club in Berlin, Maryland. The Bayside Resort Golf Club earned numerous accolades during Scrivner’s tenure including “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” – Golf Digest, “#1 Course in Delaware” – Golfweek and “Best for Resort Lifestyle” – Links Magazine.

“I am honored and thrilled to be leading the way for the new Capital Canyon Club in the beautiful city of Prescott. I strive on providing the ultimate golf club experience for members and guests and am anxious to deliver a culture of fun and excitement for this community,” said Scrivner.

Scrivner was also General Manager for the Peninsula Golf and Country Club in Millsboro, Delaware for six years where under her tutelage earned “Development of the Year” distinction by Golf Inc. Magazine. She traveled to Delaware in 2005 after a four-year stint as General Manager for Estrella Mountain Ranch Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona. It was while Scrivner was at Estrella Mountain Ranch when she captured “General Manager of the Year”   and “Highest Employee Satisfaction”  honors from Troon Golf.

“Once opened, our members and their guests at Capital Canyon Club will be welcomed by a remarkable and family-friendly club, complete with amenities unsurpassed in this area of Arizona. Our new ownership group is sparing little expense to offer an experience that will provide lasting memories for every member of the family,” added Scrivner.

Fully complementing the magnificent 18-hole Championship golf course, the Capital Canyon Club and its renovated Clubhouse will feature a wonderful dining experience with indoor/outdoor patio seating, stone fireplaces and a state-of-the-art fitness center that will offer breathtaking views of the countryside. From certain vantage points at the Club, the San Francisco Peaks of Flagstaff can also be seen. With a wondrous natural landscape to take full advantage of, Capital Canyon Club will soon become the place to be for weddings and other special events.
